I think, it's interesting, twenty years now from that time, from that gospel period, there's now a record with people singing those songs.

So, twenty years had to go by for people to become aware of the fact that Bob Dylan is one of our great gospel writers? I hope this is the beginning of a lot of people really paying attention to that period of his writing.

Those songs are some of the most beautiful ever written. I think there's no argument that he's the greatest songwriter of our time. The melodies are beautiful, and the lyrics are poignant in every way. They're completely accurate from the Bible, and I'm sure that they were inspired from some place that allowed for that accuracy to be as powerful as it turned out to be. It was probably the most powerful time I've ever been on a live stage with anybody."
