"Saved" is a song that means a lot to me and every person who's been born again.

The lyrics fit me in so many ways. There are great words-by His grace, I've been lifted, I've been saved by His spirit. I've been in the church all of my life, and it's seems like it was written for me. "Saved by the blood of the lamb"...that's a great thing to say and know it and mean it. It comes from the heart, reaches the heart.

The music is great; it's uplifting too, because the sound--the music sounds like back home in one of those sanctified churches where I come from, where everybody would get up, and they would be beating a tambourine, and playing the drums, and all of that's going on, and the old ladies, and the young people clapping, and people falling out and feeling God's spirit.

I commend Bob Dylan, I give him all the credit in the world for being able to step out and say by God's mercy, by His grace and not by what I've done, by what I've accomplished, but it's in Him who called, in Him who lifted me when I was stalled. When God gives you a song, you know it's a good song. For him to write a song like that, he has to know something about God. He has to know it. And I believe what the man says.
