I don't think that people have really absorbed what those songs were about at that time.

And it's the root, what he writes about, and a lot of other message writers. He delivers messages, he always has. Those are leaders. It's good to have writers like that that can be inspirational. That type of message never gets old because it's something you need from day to day. And the delivery of the songs he wrote we need. We need it everyday. The message was the gospel, which is good news. The message was like a newborn baby has just arrived.

The message was finding love, peace, joy, happiness and how to get it, how to obtain it. Look what I found. I think that when God touches your life, when at first the impact, however it comes, that the spirit reveals itself to you is one of the most important times of your life, in your belief. Because that's when you have that zeal, you know. It's something you should know ten years down the line. So, at the beginning is the important thing, and keeping that, holding that, no matter what comes up through life, keeping that remembrance of that first faith, that first revelation, that first touch. Keeps you strong when you relate back.

Once you've been touched or delivered you never lose that. I mean, faith is faith. If you suppress it then you remember always: I gotta have faith. That's all it takes. I'm convicted in His word, and it just remains. 'Cause if they take it all away you're still gonna just have the sun, the moon, the stars and dirt and water. Don't forget the water, 'cause the water is the word. But you take everything away and all you have is that, "Okay, where did I come from? Where did I start?" I think I gotta search within. 'Cause if they cut all the lights out in the city guess what? We're gonna be in the dark. All we're gonna have is the moon and the stars, you know. That's all we will have to guide us. His word is still the same today, yesterday and forever. And sometimes that moon is so bright you don't even need a street light.
